Research Support Fund (RSF)
The Government of Canada’s Research Support Fund (RSF) program provides annual grants to Canadian post-secondary institutions and their affiliated research institutes/hospitals to cover a portion of the indirect costs associated with their federally funded research.
Indirect costs of research are expenses that aren’t directly tied to a specific research program/project, and that fall within the following five expenditure categories:
- Research facilities
- Research resources
- Management and administration of an institution’s research enterprise
- Regulatory requirements and accreditation
- Intellectual property and knowledge mobilization
