Financial aid

Our Financial Aid Office is dedicated to helping students navigate the various funding opportunities available, including government grants, loans, bursaries, scholarships and work-study programs. Whether you're a full-time or part-time student, we're here to assist you in accessing the financial resources you need to succeed. When to apply for financial aid?

Students can apply for financial aid upon acceptance to the college or any time during their studies, with a window of up to 60 days after the completion of their academic year or program.

Applying for financial aid

Applications for financial aid are made through the Government of Quebec’s Student Financial Assistance website.

To apply, log in to your online Student Financial Assistance File using your permanent code as your username and Vanier’s institution code: 934000.

You may apply for loans and bursaries each academic year. Applications typically open in late May or early June.

Perspective Scholarships

The Perspective Scholarship program is available for Quebec students enrolled full-time in eligible programs in CEGEPs, private colleges and universities in Quebec. It aims to increase the number of qualified people in professions prioritized by the government, such as essential public services as well as in strategic areas for the economy. For each semester of studies completed, students are awarded $1500, for a total of $9000 at the end of a 3-year career program.

Program ending: Important dates

  • Winter 2025 is the last semester students can begin studies and remain eligible for this program.
  • The deadline to apply is July 31, 2025.
  • Students starting their program in Fall 2025 or later will no longer be eligible.

Ongoing eligibility for current students

If you are already enrolled in an eligible program, you may continue to receive scholarships until you complete your studies or until the Winter 2029 semester, whichever comes first—if you meet the one of following conditions:

  • You are enrolled full-time (or deemed full-time) in an eligible program in Winter 2025, after the withdrawal deadline, and continue in the same program, OR
  • You have received at least one scholarship during the 2023–2024 or 2024–2025 academic years under:
    • The Québec Perspective Scholarship program, or
    • The Excellence Scholarships for Students in Education and are enrolled full-time (or deemed full-time) in an eligible program.

To remain eligible in 2025–2026, students must receive one of these scholarships at least once per year. Students will not be eligible if they meet none of the aforementioned requirements.
