Caroline Fodor appointed Dean of Academic Development and Research

Reporting to the Academic Dean, the Dean of Academic Development and Research helps define the academic, pedagogical and administrative orientations and objectives of the College, and works to achieve the objectives of Vanier’s Strategic Plan and Student Success Plan.

Caroline Fodor arrived at Vanier College in 2020 as Coordinator of the Learning Commons, overseeing the activities of the Tutoring and Academic Success Center (TASC), the Library, and the STEM Center. During her tenure, she oversaw the development of new Centre d’aide en français (CAF) services, led student success data initiatives, and participated in the Strategic Plan Working Group. Through her active participation in multiple committees and working groups, like Academic Council and the Carrefour de la réussite au collégial, she has worked to strengthen alignment and collaboration across the College to ensure the continued success of Vanier students.

Caroline holds a Master of Information Studies from McGill University, a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from McGill University, and a Diploma in Costume Studies from Dalhousie University. Before joining Vanier, she worked at Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec, where she led a team developing services and partnerships to expand public access to reliable information and promote lifelong learning.

Caroline’s strong commitment to student success will be highly valuable in her new role as Dean of Academic Development and Research, where she will no doubt contribute even more to supporting teaching and learning. She will assume the position on September 8, 2026.
