Vanier College is pleased to announce the appointment of Charbel Mourad to the position of Director of Continuing Education and Community Services, effective November 21, 2022.

Charbel brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held increasingly senior roles in the last 15 years of his career in education, most recently as Director of Business Services for the Provincial Organization of English School Boards, where he was responsible for developing business and corporate services for the nine English School Boards.

Prior to this, Charbel worked at the Lester B. Pearson School Board where he established and managed the School Board’s Business Solutions Centre and secured the School Board as a Centre of Expertise for RAC. He has also presided the Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) English Steering Committee as a Provincial Project Manager at the Ministry of Education, worked as an Education Advisor at Heritage College where he provided expertise on the Commission d’évaluation de l’enseignement collégial and was Academic Dean and School Director at Centennial College.

“As a Vanier Alumni, I am looking forward to returning to my alma mater.  I’m excited to join the team, and in particular the Continuing Education department. I am confident that together we will pursue the ongoing success and development of our programs and services. I truly believe that alone we go faster, but together we go further,” said Charbel.

Charbel Mourad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Public Administration, both from Concordia University. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the Université de Sherbrooke and has taught courses both at Concordia and the Université de Sherbrooke.

“I warmly welcome Charbel to the Vanier community, where his strong leadership and significant experience will be of great value to our Continuing Education department and to our College as a whole. I’d also like to thank Gregory De Luca who has done an outstanding job as interim, providing precious support during the transition” said Director General John McMahon.
