Annie-Claude Banville Named New Academic Dean at Vanier College

Mr. John McMahon, Director General of Vanier College, is pleased to announce that Mrs. Annie-Claude Banville has been named as the college’s new Academic Dean. This decision was approved by Vanier College’s Board of Directors following a recommendation by Vanier College’s Academic Council.

“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Annie-Claude to the Vanier College family as our new Academic Dean. We have many strategic academic objectives to implement in the coming months and years. I am very much looking forward to working with Annie-Claude to attain these objectives and build Vanier’s future together with her and all members of our community,” said Mr. McMahon. “Annie-Claude has many years of experience in the college network as well as a commitment to team work and rigorous academic excellence.”

Mrs. Banville will officially begin her mandate at Vanier at the start of the Fall 2017 semester. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University and a Master’s degree in Art History from Université du Québec à Montréal. She also studied education at Université de Sherbrooke and will soon graduate from HEC Montréal. Prior to coming to Vanier she had been working as Dean of Academic Systems at CEGEP Marie-Victorin since June 2012.

“My marked interest for students’ needs, passion for quality education and dedication to a culture of excellence are all extremely important to me. I also believe in commitment, respect and the sharing of a strategic vision. I strongly feel Vanier College is an educational institution that also wholeheartedly embodies and supports these values. I am therefore extremely eager to begin my mandate, as there are numerous challenges that lie ahead. However, ensuring Vanier students continue to receive the best education possible will always be at the heart of my concerns,” said Annie-Claude Banville.

During her career in education Mrs. Banville also worked as an art history teacher and has been involved with numerous organizations in the CEGEP network, including the ACCQ (Association des cadres des collèges du Québec and SRAM. She is also an active member of CAOS (Comité des adjoints à l’organisation scolaire).
