Allaire, Sylvie

A graduate of McGill University, Sylvie was on staff at McGill Conservatory from 1985 to 2004 as a violin teacher and conductor, as well as holding the post of String Area Chair. Ms Allaire is a violin teacher of repute in the greater Montreal area where her students have won many prizes and honors. She has been on staff at Vanier College, teaching violin and chamber music, since 2005 and also teaches at École des Cèdres for La Commission Scolaire de Laval since 1999. After the successful performance of l’Orchestre de l’École des Cèdres in 2002 at Les Orchestrades in Brive La Gaillarde, France, Ms Allaire was invited to conduct the string orchestra as well as the massed orchestras at the closing concert for the festivals from 2003 until 2006.

Ms. Allaire is very active as a performer and is a long-time member of l’Orchestre symphonique de Laval, l’Orchestre symphonique de Trois Rivières, l’Orchestre symphonique de la Montérégie, as well as l’Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens.
