The Vanier College Music School, offered through Continuing Education, provides private and group lessons on a range of instruments and voice.

Private lessons

Private lessons are offered:

  • 20-minute session: $390
  • 45-minute session: $490
  • 60-minute session: $650

Please note that music lesson fees are not subject to taxes. Semi-private lessons may be requested upon demand.

Group classes

Music Theory 1 (Beginner)

45-minute group class
Price: $280

This course covers the basic fundamentals of Western music theory, including notation, major and minor scales, intervals, triads, time signatures, and beginner ear training.

Music Theory 2 (Intermediate)

60-minute group class
Price: $375

This course is intended for students who already have a solid understanding of the fundamentals covered in Music Theory 1. Topics include harmony and chord progressions, transposition, cadences, ear training, and melody writing.

Jazz combo class

Duration: 10 weeks (1.5-hour session per week)
Minimum enrollment: 4 students

Age Group Price
18 years and older $395 + $35 audition fee
17 years and younger $250 + $35 audition fee

Students will be contacted by the École de Jazz de Montréal to arrange payment.
