Springboard to DCS (081.C1)

This program is designed for students who want to upgrade their high school academic record to improve their chances of admission to a CEGEP program. Both high school and CEGEP level courses are offered.

Courses offered

  • Math 201-016-RE (Sec 4 TS/SN)
  • Math 201-015-RE (Sec 5 TS/SN)
  • Physical Science 105-003-RE (Sec 4 Science Technology & Environment)
  • Chemistry 202-001-RE (Sec 5 Chemistry 504)
  • Physics 203-001-RE (Sec 5 Physics 504)

Students can remain in this program for a maximum of 3 semesters before switching to a DCS program.

If you need a course that is not on this list, such as Macroeconomics, Microeconomics or Using Computers, consider applying to the Springboard to DCS program.

Requalification to a DCS (081.C2)

Students are placed in this part-time program when they have been deemed in “poor academic standing” twice at any CEGEP. The purpose is to requalify for admission to a regular DCS program.

Conditions

Students must stay in the program for a minimum of 2 full semesters (maximum of 3; summer semesters not included) and must pass at least 4 college-level courses.

Students may take 2-3 courses per semester as long as one of the following conditions are respected:

  • Maximum of 179 course hours per semester
  • Maximum of 164 course hours if one of the courses is Physical Education

Once a student has requalified, they may switch to a full-time DCS program in Continuing Education or they may choose to apply to a regular division program via SRAM.

Course selection

A wide variety of courses are available. It is recommended that students take courses missing from their previous DCS programs, if available. If unsure, students may speak with an academic advisor.

Tuition fees

$2.00 per course hour

Independent Studies (080.02)

Independent Studies is for students who do not meet the admission requirements to a DCS program or for those wishing to register in a credit course without enrolling in a program. As this is not a program of study, additional fees apply.

Tuition

$5.00 per course hour
