How to apply

Continuing Education offers a variety of courses and programs for diverse learners. The application process varies depending on the type of training you are looking for.

This page explains how to apply for the following programs, in addition to criteria for language and professional development courses:

Attestation programs (ACS)

1. Attend an information session

Info sessions are held online or in-person. During the session, you will hear from pedagogical counsellors about the program requirements and application process. You will also have the chance to ask questions any questions you may have.

2. Verify admission criteria and required documents

Verify the admission criteria of your Attestation (ACS) program. Then, begin gathering and preparing the necessary documents for next steps. These can include documents such as:

  • An updated CV and/or letter of intent
  • Proof of schooling (High School or greater)
  • Copy of the Official Birth Certificate (indicating place of birth and names of parents) accompanied by an official translation into English or French
  • Copy of both sides of Canadian Citizenship Card or Permanent Resident Card (Copy of Canadian passport is not accepted), or Convention Refugee Status Document together with the Notice of Decision and a valid collegial Study Permit issued by Immigration Canada and valid for the duration of studies
  • A copy of CSQ (Certificat de Selection du Quebec) as proof of Quebec Residency
  • Copy of valid Quebec Medicare (RAMQ) as healthcare is mandatory
  • Language proficiency test results
  • Proof of employment in relevant sector
  • Criminal background check
  • Professional wallet-sized photo

*If proof of Quebec residence has NOT been established, students will automatically be charged the non-Quebec resident fees.  The MESRS has established a number of situations that may apply to qualify you as a Québec resident.  In order to claim Quebec resident status and be eligible for Quebec Resident Fees, you must demonstrate that one of the listed situations applies to you by completing this form (opens a PDF form to claim Quebec resident status) and submitting the required documents. If you have everything except proof of Quebec residence over the past year, you can still be admitted but will have to pay Quebec non-resident fees.

Documents and transcripts written in a language other than English or French must be translated into English or French by a certified translator. Be sure to check the specific documents required by your program of choice.

The evaluation is typically composed of written and oral components, although it differs based on whether the course is full-time or part-time. See your course of interest for specific instructions and deadlines.
