Welcome to New International Students in Continuing Education

October 1, 2020

Against all odds at this incredibly difficult time for those wanting to cross borders and travel internationally, Continuing Education is delighted to welcome a new group of international students who have begun Attestation programs online from abroad.  Twenty courageous students from India and Honduras have begun two-year programs in Computerized Financial Management and Software Applications.

While their Fall and Winter semesters will be completely online, the hope is that they will finally be able to come to Montreal and join Vanier for in-person classes in Summer 2021.  In the meantime, the Continuing Education team supporting international students are ensuring that all classes (including Beginner French classes) are running smoothly, that students are introduced to Vanier support services and resources, that they are well introduced to the city and places that await them, and that they will be ready to hit the ground running when they are finally able to come to Montreal.

A virtual Orientation was held on Thursday, 24 September, where everyone got to know each other, students were introduced to Student Services, and students were welcomed by the Director of Continuing Education and international staff.

“We wish to take this opportunity to extend a big welcome from Vanier to our new international students, and look forward to meeting you in person soon!” said Rowena Selby, Vanier International and Language School Manager.
