Congratulations to Anthony Campione in his second year at Vanier College who just competed in the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland and came back with two 2 bronze medals in wrestling – a bronze team medal and an individual bronze medal for wrestling in the 92KGs category.
Seventeen-year-old Anthony, who is studying Social Science with Mathematics, started wrestling in Secondary 1 at Loyola College where he also played football and rugby. He joined the Montreal Wrestling Club National Training Centre in 2022 and since then has garnered multiple athletic successes.
This year he not only placed third at the 2025 Canada Games, but he also took first place in June at the Quebec Team Trials - 92KGs. Prior to that he placed fourth at the Canadian Junior Team Trials in late May, third at the Canadian U19 National Championships in April, and first at the Provincial Championships in February.
Not only is Anthony a talented athlete, but he was also awarded for his academic achievement last semester for attaining an 80% average. At the moment, Anthony is thinking that when he graduates from Vanier, he might pursue a degree in finance from the John Molson School of Business followed by an MBA, then perhaps take steps to become a general contractor for commercial and residential development.
Congratulations to Anthony Campione for his remarkable athletic achievements this year and good luck for the future. Clearly, this is a young athlete to keep an eye on!
