On December 5, 2025, students and employees at Vanier College gathered together to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and to commemorate the 14 victims of the École Polytechnique attack that occurred on December 6, 1989.
In a simple ceremony, a white rose was placed before the photo of each victim, then a moment of silence was observed.
A nearby display of photos and stories also recalled six missing Indigenous women and reminded everyone that gender-based violence still exists and disproportionately affects Indigenous peoples.
