Congratulations to Vanier Music teacher, Catrina Flint, who is the main organizer of a conference in Paris entitled, Maurice Bouchor: Écrits, musiques, et spectacles. The international interdisciplinary conference that runs February 23rd to 25th, will focus on 19th century French poet, Maurice Bouchor.
One of the highlights of the conference will be a recital on February 23rd by Vanier graduate, soprano Kevisha Williams, (photo) who will perform art songs on texts by Bouchor. She will be joined by three French musicians to perform works from Poëms de l’amour et de la mer, Saint-Georges – Légende dramatique and La Légende de Sainte-Cécile.
Kevisha Williams is currently completing her Masters in vocal interpretation at Université de Montréal. She is the winner of George Cedric Ferguson and Louise Roy bursaries. She has performed in a Maurice Bouchor Marionnette presentation of Le songe de Khèyam, and interpreted the roles of Papagena from the Magic Flute, Gretel from Hansel and Gretel and Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld.
