Vana Nazarian appointed to Board of Governors as socio-economic member

Vanier College is pleased to announce that Vana Nazarian has been elected as a socioeconomic member to the Board of Governors. She will be serving a 3-year term, effective 3 February 2026.

Vana Nazarian has been a Montréal municipal councillor since 2021 and was re-elected in 2025. She oversees international outreach, city attractiveness, and contributes to economic development, helping position Montréal locally and internationally.

She holds a master's degree in art history as well as an MBA, a combination that reflects a strong academic foundation and expertise in management, governance, and strategic decision-making.

Her professional background has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of public governance, institutional accountability, financial oversight, and complex organizational environments.

A mother of three, she is committed to equity, inclusion, and youth development.

With a strong background in public governance and nearly a decade of political experience, she brings expertise in accountability, financial oversight, and organizational leadership which makes her an excellent addition to the Board of Governors of Vanier College, where she is committed to advancing the institution’s mission.

The Board of Governors is the governing body of the College. Its 19 members come from various groups within the internal and external community, mandated to carry out their duties with independence in the best interests of the College's mission.
