Vivian Chan, President of the Vanier College Student Association, and Amélie Godin, Special Education Techniques student, join the Vanier College Board of Governors.
The Board is pleased to welcome Vivian and Amélie, both of whom were appointed to sit on the Board of Governors last June.
"I like to have political discussions and be able to express the students' views," said Vivian. "Being VCSA President on the Board of Governors is an amazing responsibility to carry . I hope to contribute meaningfully to the 2026-2027 academic year and foster strong connections!"
"Through my experience attending multiple post-secondary institutions and returning to study as a mature student, I hope to bring a new perspective to the Board. As a Special Education Technique (SET) student, I am deeply aware of the different realities Vanier students can face. I believe the college should be an inclusive and welcoming space for its students. I can be a leading voice to advocate for these core values, making Vanier College an empowering place for students from all walks of life” said Amélie.
The Board of Governors is the governing body of the College and is composed of nineteen members who serve on a voluntary basis and represent industry, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, parents and students. The Board of Governors meets approximately five times per academic year and oversees certain college operations, establishes major college policies, and develops academic and related plans.
