Vanier College is proud to announce that acrobatic skier Reece Miller-Clarke is the recipient of a $2000 bursary from the Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence du Québec (FAEQ) in partnership with Industries Bonneville.
Reece Miller-Clarke started skiing when he was 2 years old at Mont Gabriel. As he got older he noticed a group of kids, not much older than him, skiing in the moguls and doing backflips off jumps. “I thought it was really cool, and when I was 6 years old my mom put me in the Mont Gabriel Mogul Club. From then on, I took my training really seriously. I had the privilege of travelling to different parts of Canada for training and had really great experiences.”, says Reece.
In Grade 11 he was selected to be on Quebec’s Acrobatic Ski Team and travelled to Europe, the United States, and around Canada for training and competitions. Reece stayed on the Quebec Team for two years while attending Vanier College where he was also on the Vanier Cheetahs D1 Football Team.
“With the support of my parents, teachers, coaches and everyone involved with the Alliances Sport-Etudes program that is offered at Vanier, I was able to continue to compete in both my sports at a high level while being on the Dean’s Honour Roll every semester, and joining various volunteering organizations.”
In addition to studying Health Science at Vanier where he maintains a very high average, Reece is also an executive on Vanier’s Humanitarian Aid Committee and MEDLIFE Chapter, and is part of the Canadian Mogul Academy.
Congratulations Reece Miller-Clarke, a talented and engaged student-athlete.
