The medal was presented to him by the Honorable Manon Jeannotte, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, at a ceremony held on April 26, 2025. The Medal recognizes Quebecers who have demonstrated sustained voluntary involvement, a positive influence within their community, and an inspiring attitude that motivates others.

As President of the Vanier College Students' Association (VCSA), he represents over 6,500 students and has led meaningful initiatives to make the college a better place and enhance student life, including securing increased funding for the Campus Pantry Room.
Inspired by his volunteer work with Special Olympics, Mehtab continues to champion inclusion and equity. His passion for advocacy, leadership, and helping others reflects a deep dedication to creating lasting and positive change in his community.
“Receiving the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal is an incredible honour and a moment I will always carry with pride,” said Mehtab. “I am truly grateful to the Honorable Manon Jeannotte, the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, for this recognition. From the beginning, my goal has been clear: to inspire those around me and to make every place I am part of stronger and better. This award is not just a recognition of past efforts, it’s a reminder of the responsibility I carry moving forward. I’m excited to continue leading to make a lasting impact wherever I can.”
What are Mehtab’s plans once he graduates from Vanier? “I plan to continue developing my leadership skills both in and out of university, where I hope to pursue a law degree. Alongside my studies, I am particularly interested in exploring the fields of finance and politics, as I believe a strong understanding of both is necessary to bring change.”
