Congratulations to Vanier’s Jérémy Koueiki winner of a $500 Sport-études bursary from the Fondation Desjardins.
While clear about his swimming ambitions, swimmer Jérémy Koueiki was not at all sure of what he wanted to study when he got to Cegep. But with the help of his teachers and academic advisors as well as his parents, he managed to persevere and overcome some early pitfalls and discover what really interested him in his Social Science Program at Vanier.
Jérémy, who specializes in the breaststroke and individual medley races, won Gold in the 200m breaststroke at the 2018 Jeux du Québec and in the 100m breaststroke at the 2019 Canadian Junior Championships. At the Olympic tryouts for Tokyo, he placed seventh in the 200m breaststroke.
This medal winner plans to continue on this successful path next summer at the Canadian Championships, then qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Academically, Jeremy wants to complete his Social Science studies then pursue a university degree in management in order to eventually work as a consultant.
Congratulations and good luck to Jérémy Koueiki in his future endeavours!
