ECE Winter Mini Ped Day
In January, the Early Childhood Education Department hosted a wonderful half-day workshop for the Vanier community on the topic of active learning.
The workshop was created by ECE teachers from Vanier and Heritage College.
Entitled CTRL + ALT + ENGAGE: Re-booting Classrooms in the AI Era, the aim of the workshop was for early childhood education professionals to share pedagogical strategies that will engage both preschoolers and college students. In this AI era, it’s important to offer our students an alternative to resorting to Chat GPT.
Teachers, technicians, and ped counsellors from all sectors of the college attended and had a great time learning and discussing the hot topic.
Plus, there was a delicious lunch, catered by Café Guerrero- the perfect way to wrap up a morning of loose parts, outdoor inspirations, and playful learning. The workshop was well-received by everyone who came, and a condensed version will be presented at Ped Day in August- we hope to see you there!
