At its June 9, 2026 meeting, the Vanier College Board of Governors elected the members of the 2026–2027 Executive Committee, including a new Chair and Vice Chair. Hugues Charbonneau was elected Chair, and Vana Nazarian was named Vice Chair. Melanie De Souza and Rhys Adams were also elected to serve as members of the Committee. In accordance with the College’s Act, the Executive Committee is chaired by the Director General.

Hugues Charbonneau, a Vanier graduate and representative of the business sector, joined the Board in October 2024 and previously served as Vice Chair. His experience and longstanding connection to the College will support the Board's work over the coming year. Vana Nazarian, who joined the Board in February 2026, brings a strong perspective as a municipal counscilor representing the socio-economic sector.

The Executive Committee plays a key governance role at the College. Acting as the finance and audit committee, it oversees financial matters, approves the appointment of Directors, and authorizes certain purchases within limits delegated by the Board.

The College extends its sincere thanks to outgoing Chair Haig Basmajian. Haig will remain a member of the Board until November, when his second mandate as a member will come to an end after 6 years of dedicated service. His leadership and commitment have been instrumental in guiding the Board and supporting the College’s mission.
