Appointment of Mr. Benoit Morin as Director General of Vanier College

“Mr. Morin brings with him a vast understanding of the public sector and extensive experience in managing organizational transformations. Throughout the various stages of the selection process, Mr. Morin demonstrated inspirational leadership and great analytical and listening skills. The many people involved in selecting Mr. Morin were able to see the variety and depth of his experience, as well as the key leadership values sought by Vanier College, in particular respect, perseverance and managerial courage. Mr. Morin has faced many complex organizational challenges during his career as a leader, including the pandemic crisis, which created an unprecedented volatile and risky environment. I am convinced that, in addition to his many skills, his vision based on community and collaboration will contribute to the success of our college,” said Mr. Basmajian.

Mr. Morin holds a PhD in Health Law and Ethics from the University of Toronto, an Executive MBA from Queen's University, and Master's and Bachelor's degrees from the Université du Québec à Montréal. He also has training in governance (ICD.D designation), leadership and Indigenous cultural safety.

With more than 20 years' experience in organisational management, Mr. Morin has held positions at the head of various public organisations, mainly in the healthcare field, including several years as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (CIUSSS).
