sabino della sala

It was with deep regret that the College announced the passing of Sabino Della Sala, on October 11, 2011. Sabino, Audio-Visual Support Services Professional, and graduate of Vanier’s Electrotechnology Program, joined Vanier College as an employee in 1988. Since that time he became well known to Vanier teachers, staff, students, and SuperCamp staff and campers, from his employment in Audio-Visual, LITC, and the Auditorium.

Everyone who encountered Sabino has been touched by his loyalty and pride in all things Vanier College. Although Sabino has been ill for some time, he has been very much a part of our community through the activities of his friends and family members.

On behalf of the entire College, Director General Gilbert Héroux expressed all of our heartfelt sympathies to his wife Maria Melillo of the Nursing Dept, his brother, Joe Della Sala, Receiving (Purchasing), and his family.

Funeral service was held on October 14th at Transfiguration Of Our Lord 11775 Filion, Saint Laurent. In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Oncology. Burial followed at Rideau Memorial Gardens 4239 Boul. Des Sources. The College arranged for buses to transport members of our community to the Funeral.

Update: The following memoriam appeared in the Gazette one year after Sabino’s death. View it.
