It is with deep sadness that Vanier learned of the death of retired teacher Roland Wensley, who passed away at St. Anne’s Hospital, St-Anne-de- Bellevue on February 7, 2012.

Roly taught political science at Vanier College from 1970 to 1976, and headed what at one time was called the Social Science Division. He was very active in curriculum development and in the organization and development of Vanier in its early years.

WENSLEY, Roland James Peacefully at St. Anne’s Hospital, St-Anne-de- Bellevue on February 7, 2012, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Rhona Elizabeth Watson, and loving father of Elizabeth (Stephen Hopkins) and Catherine; proud “GP Roly” to Clare, Rosemary, Alison and Max. Roly fought in Italy and Holland during the Second World War, followed by a rewarding career as an educator with the PSBGM, the CEGEP system (Dawson) and Vanier College and McGill University’s Faculty of Education.

His family is grateful to the staffs of the Cambridge Care Floor, Sunrise of Beaconsfield and St. Anne’s Hospital, 5th Floor whose compassionate care made a great difference to both Roly and his family. Funeral on Friday, February 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 900 Laird Blvd., TMR. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Anne’s Hospital Foundation ( www.sahfoundation.ca) would be appreciated.
