The Vanier community was saddened with the news of the death of Ralph Struck which occurred on Thursday, July 11, 2013.

Ralf taught in the Electrotechnology (Industrial Electronics) Program, at Vanier College from July 1974 until his retirement in August 1999, both in the daytime program and in Continuing Education. Ralf is remembered for his dedication to the excellence of his teaching. Ralf was forever fascinated with how things work – the natural world, human insights and relationships, and the design of man-made objects of any size and scale.

Born in Buxtehude, Germany, Ralf spent most of his adult life in Montreal. He died quietly at the Lachine General Hospital, surrounded by family. A memorial service and short reception will be held in the St. Philip’s Anglican Church Hall (Montreal West), on Thursday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation.

Our sympathies are extended to his family, former colleagues in the Industrial Electronics Program and his former students.

– Gilbert Héroux, Director General
