Malcolm MacIntosh

It is with sadness that Vanier learned of the passing on September 10th, of Malcolm “Mac” MacIntosh, retired Buiding Systems Engineering Technology teacher. Our deepest sympathies are extended to Malcolm’s family as well as to his many friends and colleagues.

OBITUARY MALCOLM MCINTOSH 1926-2010 
Malcolm “Mac” McIntosh passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Lakeshore General Hospital on Friday September 10th. Husband of the late Alice McIntosh, father of John, Malcolm, Anne and Alison. Grandfather of Garland, Liam and Miles Hastings of Hudson, Quebec, Peter, Jillian and James McIntosh of Vancouver B.C. and Julie Edison of Calgary Alberta. After serving with distinction as a sergeant with the Cape Breton Highlanders Mac returned from WWII, married Alice MacDonald and started a family. He was employed with Canadair where he worked on construction of the CF 104 Starfighter Jet. Switching careers and moving himself and family to Montreal`s West Island he took the position of automotive mechanics instructor at John Rennie High School in Pointe Claire. After several years of teaching high school, he returned to his studies and received his College Teachers Certificate and joined the newly formed CEGEP, Vanier College in St. Laurent as a Building Systems Instructor where he taught until his retirement in 2008. He also served as president, Branch 63, of the Royal Canadian Legion where he assisted many veterans. Interment will be at the Field of Honor in Pointe Claire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital. Their compassion and understanding was greatly appreciated.
