It is with great sadness that we announce that Joanne Morgan passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023 at the age of 91. Joanne retired from teaching at Vanier at the age of 71, in 2003. A life-long learner, Joanne completed a BA in Psychology and then an MA in counselling psychology. Joanne was hired the first year that Vanier college opened its Snowdon campus and taught in the Psychology and Humanities Departments and continued teaching at the Ste-Croix campus when the Snowdon campus closed. Joanne was a strong and proud feminist throughout her life and a strong advocate and contributor to the Women and Gender Studies Dept.

Joanne will be greatly missed by her family; loving husband Don Kelly, children Leslie (Susan), Jennifer (Nik), and Scott (Ellen), and her grandchildren, Taylor, Anthony, and Samantha. She will also be missed by her many friends. If you wish to contact the family, please contact Jennifer at jbmorgan@duck.com.

Dick Yoshida:

To Don and the rest of Joanne’s family we send our sincere condolences. It is with sadness that we find ourselves regretting that we always seemed to be too busy to find a way to travel to Montreal. Something always came up and we assumed that tomorrow would bring another opportunity. Sometimes tomorrow doesn’t come. Now there are only the distant memories of times too long ago. But Joanne’s smile and attitude will not be forgotten.
