Vanier College is proud to introduce “Vanier Talks” an innovative and original variety talk show with a sociopolitical bend that aims to foster student success by promoting engagement, critical thinking, and social and civic responsibility.

“The innovative and original aspect of the show stems from the fact that, instead of adopting run of the mill academic colloquia formats, it features a dynamic round table discussion preceded by a meal shared among participants. Six guests (including three Vanier students) and a host participate, and the discussion is interspersed with musical and/or satirical segments (all performances sourced from Vanier students), capped off with an audience Q & A segment,” says political science teacher Ara Karaboghossian who spearheaded the new project.

The show will be recorded at the college in front of a live audience of students and staff, and will subsequently be broadcast on Vanier TeleVision’s (VTV) YouTube channel. Given public health restrictions that are currently in place, the first edition of “Vanier Talks” will be an adapted online/virtual episode (on Zoom Webinar), and will be open to the public.

The inaugural episode of “Vanier Talks” launches on April 28th and will tackle Health (Mental/Physical) and the Covid19 Pandemic.
