Vanier College launches new Vanier Parc-Ex Campus for Continuing Education and the Language School

[Vanier College is proud to announce the opening of the new Vanier Parc-Ex Campus dedicated to Continuing Education and the Vanier Language School. Located on Beaumont Avenue in Parc Extension-Villeray, the new campus is virtually next door to the new MIL Campus of the Université de Montréal, which houses the Science Complex and a future Innovation Centre.

The Vanier Parc-Ex Campus is located in the middle of the Island of Montreal, at the crossroads of Outremont, Plateau Mont-Royal, Rosemont La Petite-Patrie, Villeray-St-Michel-Parc Extension and Town of Mount Royal. Vanier Parc-Ex Campus is in the heart of a burgeoning new hub of AI, gaming and creative industries led at the moment by MILA - the Montreal Institute for Learning Algorithm at nearby O Mile-Ex and other companies such as Element AI and Thales SA. With the recent purchase of nearby property by the San-Francisco-based Speer Street Capital, which specializes in developing office buildings for technology companies, other leading IT companies looking to install themselves in Montreal are sure to follow.

“The campus is an extraordinary opportunity to develop Continuing Education in new directions and to integrate into a dynamic and rapidly changing environment that will allow us to adapt our course offerings to the needs of information and new technologies. We are also pleased to welcome international students to study in our attestation programs already offered to the Montreal community and have them all benefit from our new laboratories,” said Anne Marie Lemay, Dean of Continuing Education and Community Services.

John McMahon, Vanier College Director General, underlined the team work effort : “Opening this new campus required a lot of work from all the Facilities and IT teams at Vanier and we are grateful for their support in helping realize this project.”

Vanier Parc-Ex Campus is located on the second floor of 550 Beaumont Avenue, West of Park Avenue. The recently remodeled premises feature a large reception area, as well as two large classrooms, 4 laboratories, a meeting room, 4 offices, a teacher resource room, several small study rooms, a kitchen and a large sunny student lounge.

“We’re really pleased about Vanier’s new Continuing Education location, which will be used for some Attestation programs, including our new international Attestation programs, and some Language School classes. We will be increasing our use of the new space over the next months, as we adapt to using both the main Vanier campus and Vanier Parc-Ex,” said Anne Marie Lemay.

The official inauguration of the new Vanier Parc-Ex Campus will take place on November 13, 2019.
