Vanier College is pleased to announce that Saint-Laurent MNA Marwah Rizqy has established a new scholarship for graduating students in the Architectural Technology program at Vanier. This year’s inaugural recipients are recent graduates Emilie Wing Yan Lam and Marie Anne Sayegh (class of 2023). A ceremony was held at the MNA’s office in St-Laurent on Monday, August 14, 2023, where each student received a cheque for $500.
The faculty was asked to choose the winners, based partly on academic excellence but also on students’ perseverance and determination in completing the program. “We are humbled that the MNA has chosen to support our students in this manner. We’re pleased that perseverance has been emphasized in awarding this prize, as such a quality is just as important as grades or academic performance in the success of a graduate,” says Michael Lancione, department coordinator.
Both graduates will continue their studies in the fall. Emilie (right) will study design at UQÀM, while Marie Anne (left) will study construction engineering at ÉTS.
Congratulations and best of luck to both winners.
