Vanier College Director General, John McMahon, is pleased to announce the appointment of Haritos Kavallos as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
Haritos Kavallos, a Vanier alumnus, has more than 13 years of experience at Vanier and has played an integral role in working towards furthering student success, particularly with his management of the activities of the Learning Commons and his role on the Student Success Taskforce.
Haritos holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology and a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Concordia University.
In addition to acting as Vice-President on the Executive Committee of the Association of Vanier College Administrators (AVCA) and Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Vanier College’s co-op bookstore and café, Haritos has been actively involved in the Educational Alliance for Science & Technology EAST, the Vanier College Robotics Team, the Association québécoise de pédagogie collégiale (AQPC) and student success initiatives from Le Carrefour de la réussite. He has teaching experience at Concordia University in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science and is currently finishing a second Masters degree in Information Studies at McGill University.
His commitment to performance improvement and learner-centered approaches to education combined with his love of Vanier will serve him well in his new role.
