St. Laurent, May 30th 2016 — Vanier Computer Science student Adrian Todorov, has been named the valedictorian for the 2015-2016 Graduating Class. Adrian was chosen by a selection committee that received nominations from across the Vanier community. He will act as the official representative of all 2015-2016 Vanier graduates and will address the audience at the graduation ceremony taking place Tuesday June 21st at 7:30 p.m. at Place Des Arts.

“I invite all my fellow graduates and future lawyers, doctors, nurses, architects, musicians, artists and engineers, to keep dreaming. Remember that a human being is only as big as his/her dreams. I would also like to thank all the phenomenal teachers at Vanier because you were always there for us when we needed you,” said Adrian.

Adrian was on the Dean’s Honour Roll for all six semesters of the program and a member of the Vanier key society. He was a member of one of the Vanier teams that participated in the DIRO Hackathon at Université de Montréal in fall 2015 and won the “Prix des retombées” in the Delirium Durable competition for an information systems project that was completed in one of his courses to track trees around the Vanier campus via GPS. Finally, Adrian was the lead developer for the Tree-Tag – Vanier College native android application, an information sharing initiative with the goal of promoting diversity on the campus and creating the management tools necessary to ensure the long-term health and replacement of the trees on campus.

“On behalf of the Vanier community would like to offer my congratulations to Adrian. I wish him all the best as he moves on from Vanier to pursue the next exciting chapter in his life,” said Vanier College’s Director General Normand W. Bernier.
