Vanier College is pleased to announce it will be offering two short-term Credited Career Advancement Course packages (CCAC) to help people who are unemployed due to the pandemic.
Thanks to a budget of $1.9 million from the Quebec government announced on February 12, 2021, eleven CEGEPs in the Montreal area will offer these short-term credit development programs in a variety of sectors such as digital marketing, food processing, administration, management and others.
The refresher training courses are eligible for the Assistance Program for Stimulus Through Increased Training (PARAF), so those who take them may be eligible for an allowance of $500 per week during their training.
The Vanier Continuing Education Department will offer two CCAC packages:
Advanced Web Programming and Design (4 Courses, 240 hours, start date: March 15, 2021)
Accounting Microprogramming (5 courses, 300 hours, start date: March 15, 2021
Each package of Credited Career Advancement Courses focusses on teaching targeted and relevant skills, which are highly sought-after by employers within the current job market, and allows students to rapidly upskill and integrate the job market in related fields. The new Credited Career Advancement Courses (CCAC) are open to people referred by Emploi-Quebec (holders of a fiche de suivi) or not.
Continuing Education will hold online information sessions to give further information about these courses. Dates for information sessions are:
Accounting – February 24, 2021, at 10:00 am
Advanced Web Programming & Design – February 24, 2021, at 02:00 pm
The Career Advancement Courses in Accounting teach accounting skills that can be useful to new entrepreneurs or to anyone else seeking specialized knowledge in accounting. Five specialized accounting courses will prepare students for entry-level accounting-related roles, such as:
Payroll Clerk
Accounting Clerk
Customer Service Representative in a financial institution
Purchasing and Inventory Control Clerk
Food Service Supervisor
Sales Supervisor in Retail trade, etc.
The Career Advancement Courses in Advanced Web Programming & Design aims at professionals in the computer technology workforce seeking to upgrade their web programming and design skills to meet industry-level standards. Completing this professional development training will allow candidates to gain entry or opportunities for advancement in the following areas:
Web programming
Software development
Database administration
Database management
Graphic design
