Vanier College Continuing Education would like to extend a warm welcome to our first group of International Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) students, who arrived from India last week. Twenty-one students started classes this week in Computerized Financial Management and Software Applications Specialist programs. Their programs will be two years long, and include internships, French courses and job-seeking methods classes.
The students have travelled from the New Delhi area and Punjab and Gudjarat states. They are having to get used to colder temperatures, traffic on the opposite side of the road, French signage, new systems and new cultural experiences.
An Orientation session took place on Friday, 17 May, where the Vanier Director General, Academic Dean, Dean of Continuing Education and various Student Services representatives, welcomed and provided logistical information to the students.
We are delighted to welcome this first group of international students to Vanier, and wish them an excellent beginning to their academic learning experience at Vanier and to living in Montreal.
