Looking to get involved on campus in a way that's meaningful and makes actual change? Whether you're into community building, social justice, sustainability, event planning, or just want to meet like-minded people, the Vanier Key Society (VKS) is is a place for you to lead, grow, and connect.
Pick your path:
- Choose from hands-on volunteer projects, creative campus events, or leadership roles
- Build your resumé with real skills and leadership opportunities
- Earn your S.T.A.R.: work towards one of the recognition categories
- Create student initiatives and shape your college experience
You don't need to be a "leader" already — just curious, motivated, and open to learning!
VKS students may be involved in the following:
- Art hive workshops (painting, knitting, clay)
- Cultural events (Diwali, Lunar New Year, Beyond Borders)
- Social activities (speed-friending, karaoke, trivia)
- Sustainability events & outreach (eco workshops, thrift store, Fair Trade campus)
- Themed activities (Halloween, Geek-Con, winter carnival)

Requirements to join VKS
- Apply and complete an interview
- Be in good academic standing
- Available to attend the weekly meetings and scheduled training sessions
How to get involved?
Students must apply to become a member of the Vanier Key Society by filling out the online form available at the beginning of each semester under the Vanier Student Life Community on Omnivox.
Those selected will be invited to an interview before the first meeting of the semester.
