Course drop

If you wish to drop a Continuing Education Evening and Credit Course from the Summer 2025 semester, you must complete the online Course Drop form by the deadline. This deadline is the date by which students may drop a course without incurring academic consequences. The deadline varies depending on whether you’re registered for Summer School or Prep School, and/or which course you’re taking: 

Summer School Course Drop deadline*: Wednesday, July 2, 4:00 p.m. Complete the form.

Prep School Course Drop deadline*: Tuesday, July 15, 4:00 p.m. Complete the form.

Drop deadlines vary for the following courses and sections: 

Course: 109-101-MQ 

  • Section 02001: June 18, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. 

Course: 109-102-MQ 

  • Section 02001: June 18, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. 
  • Section 02002: June 18, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. 

Course: 109-103-MQ 

  • Section 02001: June 18, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. 
  • Section 02002: June 23, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. 
  • Section 02003: June 26, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. 

When dropping a course, keep in mind that:

  • During the validation period, all courses must be marked as “ATTENDING” in order to drop a course.
    • Summer School validation period: June 19 -26
    • Prep School validation period: July 3 - July 10
  • Once all courses have been validated as “ATTENDING,” you can still drop a course (regardless of whether you are passing or failing it)
  • The course will be removed from your schedule, but will remain on your LEA.
  • A remark will appear on your transcript as “AE” (Abandon étude).
  • No grade, credits, or R-score will be assigned.
  • Dropping a course will not change your full- or part-time status at Vanier College, however, your status may affect your eligibility for loans and bursaries. To maintain eligibility, you must pass a full-time course load consisting of 180 course hours or more.
