Student photographers from throughout Québec to be celebrated and have their works exhibited at Vanier College

May 13, 2014

On May 15, 2014, the winners of the 3rd edition of the CCDMD World of Images Inter-Collegiate Photo Contest will be announced at the opening of the Exhibition of the 30 Finalists of the photo contest.  The event will take place at Vanier College in the Henry Lehmann Gallery (B-305) of the Communications: Art, Media, Theatre Department, from 5 to 7pm.

The jury this year was presided over by photographer Jocelyn Michel.  The contest aims to encourage the development of the next generation of young photographers by facilitating the production and sharing of high-quality artistic or documentary works. Participation is restricted to students of the Québec CEGEP network. A maximum of 5 photographs was submitted by each participant.

The competition awards more than $3,000 in prizes, including a first prize of $1,000 for best photo, a People’s Choice prize (voted online by the public), and two participation prizes (determined by a draw).

"The Vanier Communications; Art, Media, Theatre Department is honoured to host this event at the student run Henry Lehmann Gallery,” says Christoph Heldt, Assistant Coordinator of the Communications; Art, Media, Theatre program.  “We are especially proud of one of our students, Tylea Cole, who is one of the finalists being exhibited in the show."

The exhibition will run until September 2014 and is open to the public.
