It is with sadness that Vanier has learned of the passing of Nathan Bernstein on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Nathan taught in the English Department at Vanier College from 1973 until he retired in 2008. He was a gifted teacher, both professionally and personally, he taught students how to love the sound of language and poetry through ‘King Lear’ and ‘Jelly Belly’. He passed on his love of ‘Waiting for Godot’, cozy mysteries, chocolate, condiments, party sandwiches, and Billy’s smoked meat. Everyone who met Nathan was struck by his generosity.

A private graveside service will take place. In Lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Chez Doris, (514) 937-2341.

Arrangements entrusted to Paperman & Sons.

Condolences for the Berstein family may be shared on Montreal Gazette Obituaries
