Joël Richard
Joël Richard was a long-time member of the Modern Languages department. His career at Vanier started in the Snowdon Campus and continued until his untimely death in 1998. Joël was a well loved and highly respected educator.
The degree of affection he engendered was attested to by the large number of people who attended a wonderful musical memorial service held in
his honour in Église Saint-Laurent. At the request of the family, a scholarship fund was established.
The Joël Richard Memorial Scholarship is currently given to a graduating Vanier student who has achieved good grades in French 102 or 103, and who has also demonstrated an interest in fine arts, classical music, or theatre.
The photo at right was taken here at Vanier in the Snowdon Campus in the early 1980s.
God bless, Joël. Rest in peace.
