Class schedules adjusted ahead of possible STM strike

September 19, 2025

The upcoming STM strike, planned for September 22 to October 5, may affect many of our students and employees. As a result, temporary scheduling adjustments have been made for our day programs and Continuing Education evening DCS courses. If the strike is cancelled, regular class schedules will be maintained.

  • On Mondays (Sept. 22, 29) and Wednesdays (Sept 24, Oct. 1), all on-campus classes will end by 5 pm. Continuing Education evening classes and evening intensive courses will be cancelled and rescheduled.
  • Communications about other Continuing Education programs such as ACS and RAC will be sent to teachers and students.
  • Internships (stages) and off-campus pedagogical activities (including field station classes) will proceed as originally scheduled.
  • Day program classes will not be held online. However, teachers may share course content or assignments with students via Moodle or Omnivox to support continuity of learning.
  • Assessments scheduled after 5 pm, including those in the Access Centre, will be rescheduled.
  • All practices and local games will be maintained as planned for student athletes.

Students who have questions should reach out to their teachers. If in need of support, they can also contact Student Services or Student Advocacy. Faculty should reach out to their deans and staff should contact their supervisors.

We recognize the challenges this situation presents and thank our community for its continued collaboration and flexibility.
