PEER TEACHING COURSE – Do you need a Block B (603-HS) English course next semester? Apply for the PEER TEACHING course! JANUARY INTERSESSION - MODERN LANGUAGES COURSE - Do you need a complementary course? Do you want to lighten your course load or make up a course? Take advantage of the Winter Break 2010 and register in an Intersession Language Course. The Modern Languages Department is pleased to offer Beginners’ Spanish II (prerequisite: Beginners’ Spanish I or one year high school Spanish) in the mornings from January 4 to January 19 inclusively, from 9am to 12:40pm, with a final class/exam on January 20 during Universal Break. This course is open to all students as part of their regular course load and entails no extra fees. Registration for this course will take place in Room C-402 on Wednesday, November 18 at 12:30pm (Universal Break). FIRST SEMESTER SOCIAL SCIENCE AND COMMERCE STUDENTS – If you are a first semester student in Social Science or Commerce and think you will have an average of 80% or higher this semester, you are invited to apply to the HONOURS program. Applications are available in Dean Nancy Wargny’s office (A286).

CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY – On Friday, December 4, 2009 at 1:30pm, the Departments of Communication Studies and Journalism will be holding an information session to introduce students to the different programs and review the various entry requirements. The session will take place at the Loyola Campus, in the Communication and Journalism Building, located at 7141 Sherbrooke Street.

ANIMAL HEALTH CAREER DAY 2009 will be held on Wednesday, November 18, from 11:30am-2:30pm in Room N131. Animal Health students: Do not miss this excellent opportunity to meet veterinary hospital and research laboratory recruiters from: Charles River, LAB Recherche Inc., Centre Vétérinaire DMV, Animal 911 Veterinary Hospital, Hôpital Vétérinaire Rive-Sud, ITR Laboratories Canada Inc. and Hôpital Vétérinaire de Pierrefonds. This event is presented by the Animal Health Technology Department and the Student Employment Centre.

LBGT STUDENT GROUP – The new group for students who are lesbian, gay, transsexual, transgender, two-spirited, intersex, queer, AND their friends and allies is called U.M.B.R.E.L.L.A. ENGLISH EXIT EXAM WORKSHOP – If you are planning on writing the English Exit Exam, you should attend at least one English Exit Exam workshop, designed to give you tips, tricks and information to help you pass. These workshops are held every Wednesday at 12:30pm in A342.

MATH COMPETITION – The 2009 Sun Life Financial Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 9am -11:30am in the Math and Science Centre (F540). Please make sure to show up at least 10 minutes before the start of the competition. No calculators are permitted. All competitors must advise their teachers in advance if they will be missing a class.
