Lyne Marie Larocque A graduate of Vanier College in 1982 (before the existence of the New Building) I earned my BA from Concordia University in Soviet Studies and then moved to Ottawa to do a Master's Degree at the Institute of Soviet and East European Studies at Carleton University, where I wrote a thesis on the history and culture of Islam in Soviet Central Asia. A move back to Montreal has allowed me to undertake (and I have yet to complete it) a PhD at the Université du Québec à Montréal, in the Sociology of Religion. |

Besides my studies, I have travelled quite a bit, spending almost two years in London, England between my Cegep and University studies. I have been to Europe many times, fascinated by the Roman ruins of the South of France, by the Moor architecture of Spain and the music of Mozart in Vienna. Did I mention Van Gogh's Amsterdam? I also enjoyed travelling the North of Quebec amongst the Montagnais ands Naskapi nations, and seeing the wilderness of the North Shore and Labrador. I am always up for playing a game of tennis, and I love scuba diving. (Yes, I did see sharks and sea turtles ) The picture below was taken in the Bahamas in the spring of 2004.
