Ruth (Rachel) Belfer Watching people (always and everywhere), and wanting to figure out what made them tick, led me to Concordia and a BA in sociology. With analytical know-how picked up there, I explored and enjoyed a variety of careers. I have been a researcher for TIME Magazine, an educator with adolescents in crisis, an analyst of public-policy issues, and an editor of technical manuals in the aerospace industry. |

Then, always thrilled by the adventure and challenge of a fresh role and new things to learn, I decided to go back to school. One Masters later, and captivated by social theory, I am a teacher at Vanier College -- and loving it. A native Montrealer, I adore the sights, tastes and sounds of travel. I have dug my toes into the red sands of Prince Edward Island and climbed the Great Wall of China. Right here at Vanier, though, a myriad of people enter my life daily, bringing me their cultures, foods, stories, colours, songs and laughter. How marvellous to be in one place, yet experience the richness of the world. Office
