Graduation Requirements
The following courses are required for a Cégep diploma by the Ministry of Education:
1. All courses from your program of study
2. General Education courses
- 4 English courses
- 3 Humanities courses
- 2 French courses
- 3 Physical Education courses
- 2 Complementary courses
3. English Exit Exam
4. Comprehensive Assessment (Épreuve synthèse de programme)
The Vanier College Comprehensive in Science targets specific courses in which the objectives can be met in an interdisciplinary context and students' mastery can be measured. It will be your responsibility to ensure that you not only take the required number of these courses, but also pass the targeted assignments in each.
The courses you may use for your ESP credits are as follows:
Two from the following General Education courses:
- English (603-HSD)
- French (602-HSC or 602-HSD)
- Humanities (345-HSA)
Two from the following Science Options:
- General Biology II (101-HTK)
- Calculus III (201-HTJ)
- Organic Chemistry I (202-HTJ)
- Probability & Statistics (201-HTH)
- Organic Chemistry II (202-HTK)
- Differential Equations (201-HTL)
- Chemistry: Food & Drugs (202-HTF)
- Numerical Methods (201-HTG)
- Chemistry: Health & Beyond (202-HTG)
- Statics & Engineering Physics (203-HTK)
- Chemistry of Wine (202-HTE)
- Astrophysics (203-HTJ)
- Linear Algebra (201-HTK)
If you have not taken the 4 required courses from the lists of designated General Education and Science Option courses, you must go to the office of the Faculty of Science and General Studies (Room B208) to make arrangements to satisfy your missing Comprehensive Program assignments.
