Please note that Modified Science is discontinued starting Autumn 2010
|

The Modified Science Program is designed for recent secondary school graduates who wish to pursue studies in science at university and need an opportunity to improve their academic record in order to continue in the pre-university Science Program.

|

In Modified Science, students take one to two intermediate level mathematics or science courses chosen from among Introduction to College Chemistry 202-HSG, Introduction to College Mathematics 201-HSG, Introduction to College Physics and one to two regular science courses, for a total of three Mathematics/Science courses in all. They also attend three one-hour tutorials per week in their HSG courses. During these tutorials, students either work on problem sets assigned by teachers or participate in workshops that emphasize study skills.

Students do not apply directly to Modified Science. On the basis of their academic transcript including their final provincial results, Science Program applicants may be offered a place in this program.

Modified Science students who successfully complete the required mathematics and science courses in the first semester, will be allowed to continue in the preuniversity Science Program the following semester.
