special care counselling courses help connect people

A second area consists of three separate fieldwork placements of two to four days a week. These start in semester three; students work within a multi-disciplinary team and put into practice the skills they have learned in course work. Supervision is provided by a member of the SCC program and a member of the agency work team. The stage component of the program is an opportunity to use skills and techniques and to work more practically in the milieu.

In the third area, students take courses in Sociology and Psychology. These courses help them become more aware of both social and psychological factors that impact on individuals, families and groups.

Finally there is the General Studies component of the program. General Studies include courses in English, French, Humanities, Physical Education and two complementary courses. These courses are designed to provide students with a well-rounded education, giving them depth and versatility for future choices.
