Patricia McClurg graduated from Vanier College Respiratory & Anesthesia technology program in 1976. She pursued a career as a staff respiratory therapist at the Jewish General hospital and later on at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. She was hired by Vanier College in 1980 as a clinical instructor. Over the many years as a faculty member she has had the privilege of teaching scores of respiratory therapy students in clinical as well as in the classroom.
Ms. McClurg has been involved with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy for many years as a member of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care examination committee. As well she has served as a survey team member on numerous COARTE (Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education) site visits for respiratory therapy schools across the country.
Her passion for teaching respiratory therapy took her along a formal educational path as well and she earned a Master of Education from the University of Sherbrooke in 2011. Currently, besides her teaching duties she is the Department coordinator for the Respiratory & Anesthesia Program at Vanier College.
Her students have always brought her the greatest joy and the knowledge that she has contributed in a meaningful way to their education gives her the utmost satisfaction.
