Please note: Workshops are free for members of the Vanier College Parents' Association. A $10 fee paid in addition to the student's registration fee. Non-members who have children attending Vanier may still pay the Association fee of $10 to be eligible to attend all workshops and Association meetings. Parents who do not have children attending Vanier College but would like to attend a particular workshop will be charged a $10 fee per workshop. Upcoming Workshops Vanier College Parents Association (VCPA) Workshop for Parents Tuesday, October 4th 7:30 to 9:00 pm Room B223 (The Auditorium) SOCIAL MEDIA - Learn more about Facebook, how and why students are using it. Presented by: Professor Maggie McDonnell. Ms McDonnell teaches English and Liberal Arts at Vanier and is a faculty consultant for the Pedagogical Development Office. She holds a Diploma in College Teaching from the Universite de Sherbrooke, and is conducting research for her M.Ed. She has been experimenting with using technology and social media as teaching tools for several years, and is an active user of Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. Donald Chambers, President of the VCPA and self-proclaimed Social Mediaholic will demonstrate how parents can create an account on Facebook and LinkedIn, and how one can help to protect their privacy.
