510-103-VA, Sculpture Studio I
This course is a hands-on introduction to sculpture in which technique, the importance of process in art, and generating and interpreting creative ideas will be explored. Students will be introduced to various materials such as clay, plaster, metal and found objects. They will also use techniques of modeling, carving, and assemblage. Through various projects the student will develop and interpret creative ideas, and will also be exposed to the language and terminology specific to sculpture and use these as they develop the skills required for critical self-reflection.
