500-201-VA, Photography Level II
This advanced level course focuses on the importance of the creative process and critical thought involved with photography, while students learn advanced digital imaging editing procedures using Photoshop, high-resolution archival printing techniques, and advanced lighting techniques in the Photography Studio. Students will further their knowledge of photography through a self-initiated project that is concept- and research-driven. The project will include the development of a clearly formulated concept through to the realization of a final body of work. Students will achieve this by means of a research process that will deepen their understanding of composition, design and content that is the language of photography. Students will also engage in constant reflection on the process and reworking of creative decisions based on constructive criticism. This course will utilize the Photography Mac Lab as well as the Photography area facilities.
