This course will help the student understand that financial planning provides a means to achieve economic freedom. The student will learn that it is not what they earn, but how much they spend that allows or eliminates the accumulation of wealth. The student will also learn that wealth is a relative concept, directly related to the accumulation of assets. Topics covered include assessing personal resources and evaluating net worth, budgeting, evaluating the need for debt, investments, taxation effects on financial decisions, planning for retirement, need for insurance.
